Last Look

One more look at the beach outside our tent in the Thousand Island area of Indonesia. Looking forward to my next trip. I don't know about you, but to me it looks like someone is sitting cross legged and meditating in the clouds. This would be a good place to do so!

Thousand Island Mangrove Sunset

Views like this are ones you will remember for many years to come. Sitting here on the edge of the world what will stop me other than the Mangrove weaves from stepping off and flying into eternity?

Thousand Island Sunset

This was the best area on the island looking out over the ocean. I'm the water, mangroves were present to watch the sun set. Behind me, trees housed fruit bats that would come out in the evening. As well geckos would announce their presence with their distinct "it err". One of the coolest sounds I have heard!

Indo Beach Front

Just out taking a stroll around the island. it is interesting to be on the edge of the earth. there is limited amount of exposed land here, very unlike Colorado that is land locked. The water levels need only to rise a little bit and everything on this island could be washed away.

Indo Sea Turtle

Sea turtles are amazing. Not only in their appearance, but also in the way the glide through the water so effortlessly. This one here is apart of a whole group that was born and raised on the island with the intention of being released into the wild.

Mangrove Pier

This pier takes you through a collection of mangroves and eventaully looks out over the ocean. It is under developed and under funded from the looks as it isnt as exapnsive as they want it to be. There are also places that need repair. I hope they are able to get more funding as this has the potential of being a great location for locals and tourists alike. They have alrady planted more mangrove sections and have sea turtles being hatched and developed on site.

Sea Turtles

These siblings are part of an entire group bred and grown in the Thousand Island area of Indonesia. Eventually they will be released into the wild, but for now we can see them as babies and adolescence. So cool to see them glide through the water!

Thousand Island Second Look

I just could not get enough of this sunset. Didnt matter which way I held my camera (landscape or portrait) there was a frame to find in the light . I do enjoy the pastels that painted the sky that evening.
