This is quite the sight! You are actually able to walk right up to this wreck and see exactly how small you are in comparison. This ship went down in March 8th 1960 when it went off course in the dark of the night during a hurricane. Luckily all of the crew made it to safety with the help of the people from the island. The waters lifted the ship to its final resting place where it is now.
This is the site you are greeted with when docking at the Inis Oirr Island. It is the smallest of the Aran Islands, but just as beautiful. There are three ways of getting around once you arrive, by walking, by bike, or horse drawn carriage. For myself, I chose to go with riding a bike. It was a wonderful day to cruise around the island and feel the wind on my face. Plus I could go at my own pace and any direction I wanted to!
This area is the ferry pickup for Aran Islands. I was able to schedule a trip to the small island Inisheer and all the way back we would ride in front of the Cliffs of Moher. With skies like this I knew it was bound to be a good day!
