The Muckross Abbey is a little spooky even during the day, I cannot imagine it at night. This chamber as you can see was very dark with only slit windows and the doorway to let any light in. I am not sure what this room was used for, but I like the texture of the stone. The room was cold which was fitting given the cold atmosphere of the graveyard out front. Some would say it is haunted, but I am not convinced.
I believe this was a room for the care taker of the Abbey. I cant imagine living in this room for any part of my life.
The wilderness around Muckross Abby and Muckross Mansion is stunning. It was so calm this day though a bit rainy. I suppose that is to be expected in Ireland. It definitely brings out the green in everything. You too can walk this road as it sits between the Muckross Abby and Muckross Mansion.
