Deadhorse Point Milkyway

Imagine walking around in pitch black. There is no moon out so the stars shine bright, but not enough to illuminate the landscape ahead of you. So you see quite the contrast of stars above over a see of blackness. Beyond this tree there is a steep drop off into the canyonlands stretching for miles and miles. Flowing through this canyon now shrouded in black it the Colorado River. It is interesting how during the day our gaze would be guided downward into the canyon, but during the night it is the sky steals our attention despite the dramatic landscape below our very noses.

Into the Night

This tree set on the milky way back drop was perfect! Such an awesome night for some star gazing. Truthfully, I didn't realize the Perseid Meteor shower was happening on this night so I was pleasantly surprised by the many flybys. I don't think I will ever tire of views like this. Beaver Reservior Stars

Super Moon Nightscape

Night time over the Flat Irons in Broomfield, CO with the super moon hovering over. If you allowed your eyes to adjust you could see clearly in the night with the light from the moon.

Hiking Bear Lake

Mountains at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Views like this never get old. The world seemed to take a deep breath on that night. Everything was calm, everything was quiet over the peaks. Colorado mountains will always have my heart.
